Using Physiology & Pathology

There are three easy ways to browse and search for content in Physiology & Pathology 2020.

1. Units tab: Use the Units tab to browse content by unit. There are currently five units available:

  • Cardiovascular
  • Respiratory
  • Renal
  • Gastrointestinal
  • Musculoskeletal

2. Assets tab: Use the Assets tab to browse content by type. You can find Lessons, Animations, Slideshows, Muscle Actions, and Cross Sections.

3. Content Search: Use the search bar in the bottom menu to search through all of the app content by keyword. This will bring up quizzes, Lessons, Animations, and more!

The controls are in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Tap the ECG icon to view a graph of the electrical activity of the heart as it beats.
The heartbeat button turns on the familiar "lub-dub" sound of a beating heart.
Next, You can turn the conduction effect off or on to watch the electrical stimulation of the heart.
You can add arrows to help visualize the flow of blood, and also add or remove the blood for a better view of the muscle action.
You can even adjust the BPM to slow down the heart for careful study!

Web access, using your mouse and keyboard:

  • Left click on the model to rotate.
  • Hold down the spacebar and drag the mouse to pan or drag the model across the screen.
  • Scroll up and down on the mouse to zoom in and out
  • Double-click on the model to automatically zoom into and center the object on screen

Mobile apps:

  • Use one finger to rotate the model.
  • Use two or three fingers to pan or drag the model, across the screen.
  • Spread your fingers apart to zoom in.
  • Pinch your fingers together to zoom out.
  • While rotating, you might find that the model is not staying centered in your view.
  • Double tapping a structure will zoom into and center rotation for that object, making it much easier to navigate around it.
