Harlem Campus Facility

The Sheldon L. Sirota DO Memorial Library occupies 3900 sq. feet on the third floor of 230 West 125th Street.  Study space includes tables, study carrels, and couches.The main area of the library is open 24/7 for studying, computer use, and printing.  A separate room for silent studying is open during staffed hours.  The silent study room can be converted for classroom use with an overhead projector and a podium.  The walls dividing the library from the corridor are glass,  There are security gates at the entrance to the general library area. The library can simultaneously seat 126 individuals, accommodating approximately 25% of the on-site students for both the Touro College of Pharmacy and Touro College of Medicine.

The staff area consists of the reference/circulation desk which seats two people, the Director’s office, the Electronic Resources Librarian’s office and a supply/processing room.

The library has PCs which are provided and maintained by the IT Department. In addition to providing access to the library’s electronic resources and the Internet, each machine has Microsoft's Office Suite installed. Wired and wireless network connection is available throughout the library. Study carrels and tables have outlets and network connections for student laptops.  Two black and white laser printers, two black and white photocopiers, one color printer and a scanner are available for student use.  A large format printer for posters is available by appointment.  All first and second year students plus third and fourth year pharmacy students are given a printing/copying allotment per semester. Students can add money to their accounts through an online interface using either a credit card or PayPal.
