The TouroCOM Libraries strive to be a center of excellence that develops and sustains services and resources to support the educational and research needs of the students and faculty of the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Touro College of Pharmacy and the Master’s of Science Program in the areas of biomedical, health, pharmaceutical and public health care information. Toward this end the libraries works to understand the changing and diverse needs of our users, be flexible and quick to adapt to changing needs and technologies, and represent the Library's ethic of honesty, integrity, and trust. The libraries provides services and resources to support faculty and student outreach efforts within their community.
The library is a member of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) and uses Docline to process and provide interlibrary loans. It is also a member of the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) and Brooklyn Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan and the Bronx Health Sciences Librarians (BQSIMB) consortia. If a library user needs to access another library with a special collection or resources not available through ILL he or she can request a card that provides on-site access to libraries within the METRO consortium.
