RefWorks: Databases with direct export to RefWorks

Databases with direct export to RefWorks

  1. Conduct a search in CINAHL Plus with Full Text.  

  2. Select individual articles or click on  to select all.

  3. Click on the quotation marks 

  4. Choose 

  5.  Select "Export to RefWorks" 

  6. Click on 

The Save to RefWorks feature can be used with any of these databases as another option. See box below for instructions.

  1. Perform a search in Embase and select the references you want to export by checking the box next to the entry.

  2.  Click on "Export"   in the top menu

  3. An export window will open. Click on the down arrow then choose "RefWorks Direct Export" 

  4. Click on

  1. Perform a search in ProQuest.

  2. Select the references you want to export by checking the box next to the entry. The number of items selected will appear at the top of the list of results.

  4. Choose  from the popup menu.

  5. Click on  at the bottom of the popup window.

  6. If you are not signed in to RefWorks, you will be taken to the login screen. Sign in.

  1. Perform a search in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global.

  2. Select the references you want to export by checking the box next to the entry.

  3. Click on the quotation marks   

  4. Select the citation style (usually AMA 11th ed) then choose  from the pop-up menu.

  5. Click on

  1.  Perform a search in Cochrane.

  2.  Select the references you want to export by clicking the box next to the entry or choose "ALL".

  5. A popup will open allowing you to choose which information you want to export. The default selection is all Citation Information.

  6.  Click on in the bottom right corner of the window.

  7. Open RefWorks

  8. Drag and drop the file into the center of the screen.

  1. Conduct a search in Sage Journals.

  2. Open an individual article

  3. Click on "Cite article"   in the top menu bar

  4. Choose "RefWorks" 

  5. Click on

3. Click on "Cite this review"   in the menu on the right.

4. Click on "RefWorks"    in the center of the popup window

1. Perform a search in Wiley Online Library

2. Click on  above the results list.

3. Select articles in the popup window and click 

4. Select "RefWorks" and "Citation file or direct import" 

5. Click on

6. Click on import

Save articles from any website

Save to RefWorks is a bookmarklet that can be installed in your browser's favorites (bookmarks) bar. When you are browsing a website that has references that you would like to add to your RefWorks account, select the bookmarklet. RefWorks attempts to save the references and full texts. Save to RefWorks should work on any modern browser.

 To install Save to RefWorks:

  1. Ensure that your browser's favorites toolbar is currently visible in your browser.
  2. In RefWorks, Click on tools
  3. Choose 
  4. Click on 
  5. Drag and drop the Save to RefWorks add-on to your browser's favorites toolbar.
