RefWorks: Welcome!

What is RefWorks?

 is a reference management service can save you hours when producing research projects.

  • Enables you to create your own personal database of references and then easily incorporate these citations into research and writing.
  • References can be quickly and easily imported from text files or online databases.
  • Users can automatically insert references from their database into their papers, generating formatted bibliographies and manuscripts.
  • Contains an easy sharing tool for research collaboration. 

RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) is a Microsoft Word add-in for accessing, inserting and formatting citations, footnotes and bibliographies in your Word document, in your chosen output style.

Creating an Account

An institutional account is available to anyone at Touro and includes unlimited document storage, unlimited sharing inside and outside the institution, phone and email tech support, training and more.

To create a RefWorks account:

  1. The easiest way to create an account is to open RefWorks at  https://refworks.proquest.com/ and click on the “CREATE ACCOUNT” link.  (NOT "USE LOGIN FROM MY INSTITUTION")

  2. Fill in your information using your Touro email address.  Using your Touro email address will help enable you to use all the benefits mentioned above.

  3.  You'll receive an email with a link to complete the registration process.

TouroOne Helpdesk has installed the RefWorks Citation Manager in Word for all Touro Office 365 users. If you are using your Touro account for Office 365 you should see the RCM in your Word Menu bar.

Write-N-Cite (WnC) is becoming outdated and will no longer be supported by RefWorks.  WnC users will need to upgrade to RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM).
