This is an introduction to the different features in the Scopus database and how to use Scopus for Research.

About Scopus

Scopus is a comprehensive, source-neutral abstract and citation database curated by an independent Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB), an international group of scientists and researchers with journal editor experience, who represent the major scientific disciplines.

  • Scopus has more than 80 million records — and that number is growing all the time.
  • 200 million quality Web sources, including 12.7 million patents.
  • includes most, but not all, Embase content, as well as the Embase index terms
  • 100 % Medline coverage

Scopus data model

Scopus data recognizes that articles are written by authors who have affiliations with institutions.

This relational data model means that Scopus can tell you who is researching what in global literature and where they are doing it with higher accuracy than anyone else.
